The Story

I have always loved watches and over the years I have acquired a number of watches. When I turned fifty I realised that unless I was going to get my arms stretched, then I needed to go to an optician and get some glasses. I found it really frustrating that I had to put my glasses on to just tell the time. The watch faces were either too complicated or the contrast between the hands and the watch face just wasn't great enough to tell one from the other.
All my working life I have been a mechanical design engineer, so I decided to design a watch that I didn't need glasses to read. The design brief was simple, the watch needed a simple uncomplicated face and with a large contrast in colour between the hands and the face. This would give me a watch that was easy to read.
Sounds easy doesn't it, but it took me eighteen months of researching how watches were manufactured and assembled, building numerous prototypes and learning graphics software to produce the watch face designs. I have enjoyed every minute of it though, and I hope you like the designs on this website.
The watches use Japanese quality movements by Miyota (a Citizen company), reliable and accurate. I did lots of research and eventually found very comfortable straps in both leather and soft silicone, most importantly the watches are really easy to read, enjoy.
